The Tri Beam technology in this unit lets you see fish to the left and right as outlined icons and directly below as solid icons. The performance packed 240 will also tell which side of the boat the fish are on, fish to the right point right and fish to the left point left. Get 90 degrees of total coverage and 1600 Watts of Peak to Peak power. This is show in 8 level Grayscale.

Audio not very loud so have never heard fish notification but depth alarm is audible. Display difficult to read in any sun, especially settings. Fog cleared after a few months. Easy to install. Below average documentation clarity. Left over winter on boat out of any rain but fogged up badly.
i gave the unit five stars because it does evrything that the desciption said it would do and i'm happy with it. it works great, i can't believe the number of fish this thing picks up. first off, to be honest i'm a rookie when it comes to fish finders. i followed the instructions to the "t" and i had no problems installing the unit and it required no further adjustments after the test run. i've been in water up to 165feet deep and it has no problem showing fish and what side of the boat they are on along with how deep they are.
